On the 9th of April the young and talented Jeangu Macrooy saw his dream come true as he presented his EP release called “Brave Enough” in Amsterdam at Splendor. This was hands down one of the most special performances I have ever witnessed….

His charismatic personality, great soulful voice and magnitude in his lyrics make him a one of a kind artist. I can assure you it is not often an artist wil move you like he does on stage.

The event was really intimate, with half of he’s family who flew over from Surinam. Again at his first note, which he started in the middle of the audience, we were all blown away.

What actually moved me the most was the fact that he’s twin brother Xillan Macrooy was also present. I quote Jeangu: “I used to do music together with my twin brother, but one year and half ago I decided to come to Holland to walk my own path. I am discovering who I am without him since then, but I feel like I’m getting closer”.

The connection between twins is a very powerfull thing. We had the honor to listen to them perform two songs for us. That means twice the personality and magnitude on stage! I’m really having trouble finding the words to describe this.

As for me this was such a special event I wanted to enjoy it to the fullest and not be taking pictures or be filming constantly, therefore I only have a short video this time, which will leave you hungry for more:

I’m positive about him growing as a music artist and that he will be performing for much larger crowds.
