How Human Design Is Confirming the Things I Thought Were “Wrong” With Me

This past month, I received a birthday gift that feels like a love letter from the universe:
A Human Design book. Not just any book, but a beautifully written, deep-diving, soul-whispering kind of book — and I’m letting it land.

It was gifted to me by my mom (I added a little of my own energy to complete it, Generator style), and it’s from a site I already had a little soul connection with: Clenda Moen. I had generated my chart there a while ago but never took the deep dive. Until now.

And let me just say — this isn’t just a book.
It’s a mirror.
And a permission slip.

Before this, I had already started decoding myself through the TimeNomad app, which dives deep into astrology, transits, and planetary alignments. That exploration marked the start of my own little biohacking adventure — peeling back the layers of my chart, my patterns, my timing. Human Design now feels like the next chapter in that same story. Another powerful tool in the toolbox. Another way of remembering who I was before the world told me who to be.

So, wait… what is Human Design?

Human Design is a modern system (downloaded in 1987 on Ibiza — yes, really) that blends together astrology, the chakra system, the I Ching, Kabbalah, and quantum physics to create your energetic blueprint. It’s a fusion of ancient wisdom and galactic insight, channeled into something stunningly practical.

It tells you how your energy works — how you’re meant to make decisions, interact with others, respond to life, and even digest your food (yes, literally).

While astrology gives you a cosmic roadmap — your planetary blueprint — Human Design shows you the wiring of the vehicle you’re driving. One isn’t better than the other; they complement each other beautifully, and together, they’re like soul and system finally having a conversation.

What struck me the most…

Right off the bat, this book began to confirm things I’ve always sensed but never fully understood.

Things I thought were:

  • Trauma adaptations
  • Emotional quirks
  • Personal flaws
  • Nervous system malfunctions

…are actually how I’m designed.
Not broken. Not dysfunctional. Just different. Just… me.

My need to respond rather than initiate?
My strong gut feelings that bypass logic?
The way frustration hits me like a brick wall when something’s off?
The fact that I need grounding like air, and that my body demands warm food to feel safe and calm?

It’s not a coincidence. It’s not a coping mechanism.
It’s literally written in my design.

So I’m starting a Sunday series…

Starting this week, I’ll be sharing a bonus post every Sunday here on the blog. A new series where I unpack what I’m discovering in this book and how it all connects to:

  • My sensitivity
  • My EMF awareness
  • My blood type + food rhythm
  • My nervous system patterns
  • My post-viral journey
  • My daily life as a Generator (with emotional authority!)

I’m not a Human Design coach.
I’m not here to decode your chart.
I’m just living mine — and reflecting on how it’s all starting to make so much sense.

And if you’ve ever felt like your way of being didn’t quite fit the “normal” world, maybe this will speak to something deep inside you, too.

Where I got my book

I ordered my book from Clenda Moen — and yes, she offers both an e-book and a printed version. I went for the printed one because this kind of wisdom deserves to be held in your hands, flipped through slowly, and underlined with tea stains and sighs.

If you’re curious about your own design, you can generate your chart for free on her website. But even just reading about my own design — type, authority, digestion, and more — has been so validating.

I’ll be back next Sunday with the first post in the series — where I’ll share how grounding is essential for me.

For now, I just want to say:
If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing life “wrong,” maybe you’re just doing it off-design.

Here’s to remembering who we actually are.
One Generator ping at a time.

Want to dive deeper into my full healing story?
I’ve written The Indigo Healing Guide to share everything I’ve learned in 15 years of living with Epstein-Barr, post-viral fatigue, and quantum sensitivity. It’s part memoir, part manual—created for anyone walking a similar path. I wrote it because I couldn’t find the kind of guide I desperately needed back then. So I made it—for you.
